Blank Rome Welcomes New Labor & Employment Associate in Chicago
Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Krista P. McDonald has joined the firm’s growing Chicago office in the Labor & Employment practice group, which continues to expand with the recent additions of partner Travis K. Jang-Busby and associates Kayla M. Loveless and Garrett P. Buttrey.
Krista joins Blank Rome from White & Case LLP. She focuses her practice on a wide range of labor and employment matters. She has notable experience litigating and managing a variety of cases, including breach of non-compete agreements, misappropriation of trade secrets, class-action defense, breach of contracts, and business torts. Krista also has experience advising companies on labor and employment aspects in M&A transactions, drafting employment contracts, and compliance.
Krista has litigated in arbitrations and both federal and state courts across the country and represented clients during all stages, including critical motions practice, discovery, depositions, drafting substantive briefs, pre-trial matters, and witness examinations. She has defended employers in litigation under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Family Medical Leave Act, and other employment laws, including discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, and breach of contract claims. Additionally, she has represented corporate and individual clients in white-collar criminal investigations.
Admitted to practice in Illinois, Krista received her J.D., cum laude, from University of Notre Dame Law School, and her B.A., cum laude, and B.S., cum laude, from Miami University. During law school, Krista was the managing senior editor of the Notre Dame Law Review, and she returns to Notre Dame Law School to teach Intensive Trial Advocacy as visiting faculty. Krista maintains an active pro bono practice and was previously honored with the “Excellence in Pro Bono Service Award" by the Northern District of Illinois.
Krista’s arrival continues the strategic growth of Blank Rome’s Chicago office, which recently welcomed partners Rikke Dierssen-Morice and Basileios “Bill” Katris as well as associate Sheherbano “Sherry” R. Mirza in March, and finance partner Cynde H. Munzer in 2022.
