Blank Rome’s core values of respect for the individual, the community, and the law are rooted in an enduring tradition of leadership in charitable contributions; community and civic engagement; diversity, equity, and inclusion; pro bono service; sustainable business practices; wellness; and women’s initiatives.
We believe in the collective community power of qualified charitable contributions. Our firm has a legacy of supporting exemplary nonprofit organizations of all sizes, local to international. Our support is provided in a variety of ways, with some nonprofit organizations supported by attorneys and staff who volunteer time or pro bono legal services and others supported through monetary and in-kind donations.
Community & Civic Engagement
We are committed to supporting professional, civic, legal, and community organizations in the communities where we work and live. Our firm encourages our attorneys and professional staff to get involved with nonprofit organizations that are personally meaningful and benefit the legal profession, industries supported by the firm’s work, society in general, and local communities.
Diversity & Inclusion
Blank Rome’s true capital is our human capital. We offer innovative solutions to the complex needs of our clients through the intellectual power of our attorneys and professionals, informed by their diverse attributes, backgrounds, and experiences. We are committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our firm, the legal industry, and our communities.
Pro Bono Service
Our attorneys and paralegals volunteer to provide equal access to justice in our communities to address key issues across the country, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, racial injustice, and voter rights protection, as well as work on behalf of immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals, persons facing homelessness, senior citizens, nonprofits, and small business owners.
Sustainable Business Practices
We support environmentally sustainable business practices in a variety of ways, including working toward becoming a “paper-lite” organization, seeking sustainability in addition to quality and delivery when selecting firm vendors, and striving to use environmentally friendly products and energy efficient systems and facility design.
We are committed to promoting and maintaining the well-being of everyone at Blank Rome. We were one of the initial signatories to the ABA Well-Being Pledge and over the years we have continued to take steps to meet our commitment to that pledge, including the establishment of our Well-Being Committee.
We offer our attorneys and clients curated content and networking events designed to elevate more women into leadership positions, from our Women’s Leadership Summit, which brings together hundreds of C-suite women from across the country annually, to our Women Who Lead initiative, which creates a cohort of mid-level in-house and outside counsel women to mentor and support each other.
