What started in 1946 as two lawyers practicing together in one city has grown into an Am Law 100 firm with 750 attorneys working collaboratively to serve clients in 16 offices across the United States and internationally. Nearly 80 years later, we remain committed to our clients and communities, to discovering opportunity amid change, and to making history together.
Our Story
Having been barred from practicing at many established law firms because of their religion, in 1946 our founders opened a firm where people of diverse backgrounds could gather to practice law.
Our history began with an emphasis on transactional law, then quickly expanded to include a team of litigators. Throughout the second half of the 20th century, we grew exponentially through strategic mergers that bolstered our service offerings and geographic reach.
We continue to add top talent and expand in key markets, practices, and industries to meet our clients’ needs. And, just like day one, we are committed to fostering an environment where client service excellence, diversity and inclusion, community investment, pro bono, well-being, and innovation drive everything we do.
