Biography

Joshua A. Huber’s practice focuses on civil trial, arbitration, and appellate work primarily in the energy, oilfield services, local government, legal services, and financial services industries.

Joshua’s representative experience includes:

  • Representing corporate clients in complex commercial litigation
  • Litigation on behalf of municipalities, political subdivisions and public officials
  • Representing lenders and financial institutions in capital project disputes and litigation involving consumer protection claims (e.g., TILA, RESPA, FCRA, ECOA, TCPA, and FDCPA)
  • Defense of claims brought against law firms and lawyers
  • Employment disputes, including litigation arising out of the misappropriation of trade secrets and proprietary corporation information

Joshua has experience in client counseling, pleading and motion practice, oral and written discovery, contested hearings, prosecuting and defending injunctions, alternative dispute resolution, trial practice, and settlement negotiations. He has successfully litigated to completion numerous cases in both state and federal courts.

Experience

  • A petrochemical processing venture, in a multi-venue lawsuit over development of petrochemical processing plants involving capital expenditures in excess of $1 billion.
  • Global financial institutions, represented lenders in state and federal lawsuits involving consumer protection statutes and common law claims arising out of residential mortgage transactions.
  • A directional drilling company, defended trade secret misappropriation claims lawsuit arising out of allegations that a departing employee misappropriated a competitor’s trade secret information.
  • A physical therapy client, obtained favorable settlement concerning the theft of its trade secret and confidential information by former employees.
  • Texas local governmental bodies and public officials, defense at trial and on appeal of constitutional, contract, and Open Meetings Act complaints concerning local government activities.
  • Defense of law firms and lawyers in suits asserting fraud, professional negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, conspiracy and securities law claims.
