Daniel W. Lurie


Daniel Lurie focuses his practice on counseling clients in formations of joint venture lending and real estate investment platforms, as well as equity and “dirt” acquisitions and dispositions involving various asset classes, including retail, office, data center, residential, student housing, and senior living facilities.

Daniel also has experience counseling clients on mortgage and mezzanine financings, foreclosures and enforcement actions, equity structuring (including Sharia-compliant structuring), and cross-border investments.

Additionally, Daniel has managed the real estate aspects of significant M&A transactions, including acquisitions of multinational manufacturers and retailers, and has liaised with foreign legal teams, managed property diligence, and negotiated real estate provisions in share purchase agreements and merger agreements.

During law school, Daniel served on the staff of The Tax Lawyer legal journal at Georgetown University Law Center.


  • Represented a real estate investment fund in acquisitions of data center facilities with an aggregate purchase price exceeding $300,000,000.
  • Represented CIM Group in the formation of joint venture platform for the origination, acquisition, and sale of first-priority bridge loans secured by multifamily properties, with committed capital exceeding $200,000,000.
  •  Represented Blue Wolf Capital in its acquisition of Colson Group, a multinational manufacturer and distributor of casters and wheels with 30 facilities in 14 countries.
  • Represented Faropoint in the negotiation of a $200,000,000 revolving credit facility from Keybank.

Professional Activities

Daniel provides pro bono legal services to nonprofit organizations, including the acquisition of land for a childcare facility for low-income residents of San Francisco and the negotiation of an office lease for the League of Women Voters.
