Paula assists banks, credit unions, non-bank lenders, consumer reporting agencies, technology companies, and their vendors with regulatory compliance and transactional matters.
She counsels clients on a variety of financial services, consumer protection, and general business issues, including compliance with the Truth in Lending Act; Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act; Home Mortgage Disclosure Act; Fair Credit Reporting Act; Equal Credit Opportunity Act; and Unfair, Deceptive and Abusive Acts and Practices.
She advises clients on federal and state mortgage banking and financial services laws, origination and servicing requirements, quality control plans, compliance management systems, and regulatory approval and licensing.
During law school, she served as an extern at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and as an intern at the Securities and Exchange Commission.
