Walter Davis has almost 30 years of experience as an intellectual property professional focusing on patent law, including more than 20 years of private practice experience and six years of experience as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (“PTO”).
Walter’s years of experience have enabled him to develop an uncommon and sought-after breadth and depth of experience. He is deeply experienced and skillful at litigation, petitions for inter partes review or post-grant review, and patent prosecution. The majority of Walter’s practice consists of patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property litigation, in U.S. district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Walter has first-chair experience as well as extensive experience managing the day-to-day operation of litigations and developing and implementing litigation strategies.
Representative technologies for Walter’s cases include microprocessors, smart home systems, software, Internet technology, smartphones, lighting control systems, consumer appliances, liquid crystal display devices, plasma display devices, semiconductor design and fabrication, medical imaging systems, battery chargers, computer hardware technology, telecommunications, and pharmaceuticals.
Outside the Firm
Walter enjoys golfing, traveling, smoking meat on his offset smoker (especially brisket), and spending time with his family. A native Washingtonian, Walter is an avid fan of Washington’s professional sports teams, particularly the football team.
