Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Margaret Anne Hill, a partner in the Firm’s Energy, Environment, and Mass Torts group, has been selected to join the Environmental Law Institute (“ELI”) Leadership Council, which is comprised of the most prominent environment, energy, and natural resource leaders in the nation who are recognized for their commitment of resources and time to ELI’s vision of a healthy environment, prosperous economies, and vibrant communities founded on the rule of law.
As a member of the Leadership Council, Margaret will join other leading supporters of ELI in providing crucial advisory guidance to the organization and in furthering the ELI’s mission of making the law work for people, places, and the planet. Members also participate in industry events and have a chance to network and engage other leaders in discussions about key environmental law and policy issues. The Leadership Council’s strategic and financial contributions help ELI to promote effective environmental governance in the United States and in more than 27 countries across the globe.
Margaret Hill has practiced environmental law for more than 30 years. She has a multi-faceted background and experience working in-house for a large energy company, as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Environmental and Natural Resources Division, as a lobbyist before the U.S. Congress, and in private practice counseling clients with respect to state and federal environmental laws in litigation, compliance, and transactional matters. Margaret has authored numerous articles in the area of energy and environmental law and has given several presentations to clients and peers involving energy and environmental laws and issues. She was named an “Influential Women in Energy Law” by Law360 in 2018, and is recognized for her environmental litigation work by Best Lawyers in America.
