Blank Rome Recognized as a 2020 Best Law Firm for Women by Working Mother

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that the Firm has been named one of the 2020 Best Law Firms for Women by Working Mother magazine, marking the fourth time that the Firm has been recognized for its leadership in promoting family-friendly policies and initiatives aimed at advancing women attorneys.

Working Mother’s annual list ranks 60 law firms based on key factors such as women representation, schedule flexibility, paid-time off and parental leaves, compensation and advancement, and the development and retention of women. According to Working Mother, “law firms on this year’s list were better prepared to respond to the effects of the pandemic because of their continued support of flextime and remote work for working parents and caregivers.”

“It’s truly an honor to once again be recognized in Working Mother’s Best Law Firms list,” said Grant S. Palmer, Blank Rome’s Managing Partner and CEO. “We are extremely proud of our longstanding commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as our professional and personal development offerings that are dedicated to supporting families and fostering the next generation of women leaders at our Firm.”

“Through our Women’s Forum and forward-thinking women’s initiatives, such as our Women’s Leadership Summit and Women's Business Development Academy, Blank Rome has created a strong community for women to evolve and grow,” added Deborah A. Skakel, Chair of Blank Rome’s Women’s Forum and Co-Chair of the Corporate Litigation group. “As we continue to face unprecedented challenges during this time, we remain dedicated to exploring additional opportunities to support and advance women in law.”

The winning law firms will be honored at Working Mother’s Best Law Firms for Women Conference, which will be held on September 22, 2020. The virtual event will bring together attorneys from leading firms to delve into conversations on how to overcome the current landscape in order to lead and win in the virtual world. Blank Rome Partner and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Sophia Lee will present on the Creating Allies—Strategies from the Best of the Best panel, which will feature candid conversations on confronting racial issues in the workplace and creating strong allies to advance gender and racial diversity.

Blank Rome has continued to strengthen its commitment to maintaining a women-friendly and family-friendly workplace over the past year through the launch of BR Parents Forum, the Firm’s newest affinity group focused on supporting parents and caregivers who are striving to manage their professional and parental responsibilities, as well as the Firm’s participation in Mansfield Rule 4.0, which measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered at least 30 percent women, attorneys of color, attorneys with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ attorneys for leadership positions and opportunities. In recognition of the Firm’s leadership in this space, Blank Rome was also honored for the third year in a row in Yale Law Women’s Top Ten Firms for Gender Equity and Family Friendliness Report
