Blank Rome's Women’s Forum provides our women attorneys with valuable networking, educational, and mentoring opportunities that support and promote career advancement, leadership development, and overall strategies to succeed—both inside and outside of our Firm.
We are proud that our women attorneys are consistently ranked and recognized for their professional accomplishments in their respective fields of practice by leading legal industry publications and surveys, such as Chambers USA, Law360, Best Lawyers, and Super Lawyers, among others. Equally as important, our Women’s Forum members are active in the bar and their communities, as well as generous in their support of one another.
Through our quarterly Women’s Forum meetings, monthly “Call of the Month” Program, Lunch Circle Program, and other enrichment activities, we work to meet our goals, which include fostering the next generation of women leaders in our Firm, supporting women in business development, creating a positive and supportive network of women, highlighting our successes, and working together to advance our Firm’s overall strategic plan.
2017 was a banner year for our Women's Forum and Firm. We hosted our inaugural Women's Leadership Summit and Hackathon in Washington, D.C., where industry-leading women clients and our women partners "hacked" through issues related to collaboration between outside and in-house counsel, contributing to our communities, and diversity and inclusion initiatives, and we launched our Women's Business Development Academy, a Firm-wide initiative that paired our women partners with an outside business development coach to collaborate together on business development best practices and opportunities.
We were also once again named one of the “50 Best Law Firms for Women” in the 2017 Best Law Firms for Women rankings by Working Mother magazine, and received the 2017 Advancing Women Company Award by the Philadelphia Business Journal. These terrific rankings were earned in recognition of Blank Rome’s family-friendly policies and career and business development initiatives aimed at advancing and retaining women in the legal industry—such as our Firm’s alternative work arrangements, our participation in the OnRamp Fellowship program, and our various Women’s Forum programs.
Notably, our Firm is an active participant in Diversity Lab's industry-leading diversity and inclusion initiatives, including the Women in Law Hackathon Alliance, Phase II of Diversity Lab's Women in Law Hackathon, both of which bring law firms, students, and industry experts from across the country together to increase gender parity in the top ranks of the legal profession, and the recently launched Mansfield Rule pilot program, which measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered women and attorneys of color for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, and lateral positions.
