Benjamin A. Ailes

Biography

Benjamin A. Ailes is a registered patent agent with a focus on guiding clients through the entire patent application process for both U.S. and foreign patent applications. His practice includes patent searching, drafting, prosecution, and portfolio management.

Leveraging his background in computer science and patent examination, Ben guides inventors through the entire application process from identifying potential patentable subject matter all the way through to patent issuance.

Ben has notable experience providing guidance on IP-related issues, evaluating invention technology, performing patentability, Freedom-to-Operate and invalidity searches, as well as assisting with infringement and validity opinions.

Prior to joining Blank Rome, Ben worked as a patent scientist and agent with a Midwest-based law firm. Ben also served for 10 years as a patent examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Outside the Firm

Ben enjoys hitting the road to explore National Parks with his wife and four children or taking in a Phillies game.

Ben is an associate member of The Patent and Trademark Office Society. He also serves as a volunteer judge at The Henry Ford’s annual Invention Convention.
