Blank Rome Continues Expansion of Insurance Recovery Practice in Chicago with Addition of New Counsel

Jason Frye

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Jason A. Frye has joined the firm’s leading Insurance Recovery practice as counsel in the firm’s growing Chicago office. Jason represents corporate policyholders in coverage litigation and counsels corporate policyholders on developing successful strategies to resolve their complex insurance coverage disputes. Prior to Blank Rome, he served as counsel in the Insurance Recovery practice group at Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg, LLP.

Jason joins the firm’s Chicago office following the recent addition of insurance recovery partner Rikke Dierssen-Morice, and also reunites with his former colleague, partner Seth D. Lamden, further enhancing the Midwest presence and capabilities of the firm’s nationally recognized Insurance Recovery practice, which was recently named Benchmark Litigation’s 2023 Insurance Firm of the Year and is annually ranked in the top tiers for Chambers USA, U.S. News – Best Lawyers, Who’s Who Legal, and The Legal 500 United States, among other high-profile recognitions.

“I am thrilled to welcome Jason to our leading insurance recovery team as we continue to expand our top-tier service offerings, both in the Midwest region and nationally,” said James Murray, Partner and Co-Chair of Blank Rome’s Insurance Recovery practice group. “In addition to bolstering our premier policyholder practice, Jason’s complex litigation experience will bring significant value to our national litigation team and capabilities across diverse industries and practice areas.”

Jason serves as lead counsel in lawsuits before state and federal courts and arbitration panels, representing clients in complex insurance coverage, contract, and commercial lease disputes—with a focus on creative, cost-effective strategies to resolve disputes before litigation ensues.

Jason earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from John Marshall Law School, where he served as a member of The John Marshall Law Review, and his B.S. from Indiana University Bloomington. In addition to his insurance recovery practice, Jason is committed to pro bono service and has been twice awarded for “Excellence in Pro Bono Service” by the judges of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The arrival of both Jason and Rikke this past month continues the strategic expansion of Blank Rome’s Chicago office, which recently welcomed partner Basileios “Bill” Katris and associates Sheherbano “Sherry” R. Mirza and Krista P. McDonald, as well as finance partner Cynde H. Munzer in 2022.
