Blank Rome was proud to be a Silver Sponsor of the 2023 Sports Lawyers Association Annual Conference, held May 11–13, 2023, in Los Angeles, California. This year’s conference theme was “The Athlete in Sports” and offered attendees educational and networking experiences as well as a chance to relax and socialize with friends and colleagues from across the country and around the world.
On the first night of the conference, Blank Rome hosted a beautiful sunset rooftop networking reception led by firm partners Michelle M. Gervais, Brett S. Ward, Kristina Royce, David A. Moreno Jr., and Shawn M. Wright, of counsel Mason P. Ashe, and associate Jacqueline Combs. Nearly 65 guests attended, including firm clients and friends.
Blank Rome also sponsored a luncheon on May 12 featuring an informal discussion with Chase Griffin, Student Athlete, UCLA Football, about an athlete’s perspective on name, image, and likeness.

The Sports Lawyers Association is a nonprofit, international organization whose common goal is the understanding, advancement, and ethical practice of sports law. There are over 1,000 current members, which include practicing lawyers, law educators, law students, and other professionals with an interest in law relating to professional and amateur sports.
