Mori Taheripour

Expert Negotiator, Wharton Faculty Member, and Author of
Bring Yourself: How to Harness the Power of Connection to Negotiate Fearlessly

Mori Taheripour teaches Negotiation and Dispute Resolution in the undergraduate and graduate programs at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She has served on the faculty of the Legal Studies and Business Ethics Department for over fifteen years and is a six-time recipient of awards for excellence in teaching. She is a co-founder of the Wharton Sports Business Initiative (“WSBI”).

A globally recognized executive, Mori leverages her expertise in negotiation, diversity and inclusion(“D&I”), and sports business for Fortune 100 companies, major sports leagues, foundations, and professional associations. Current and past clients include The Goldman Sachs Foundation, Major League Baseball, National Basketball Players Association, National Football League, The Timberland Company, United Parcel Service, Wasserman, and Wells Fargo.

Mori has extensive experience leading campaigns and initiatives at the intersection of sports and social change in both the public and private sectors. In 2010, she was appointed the first-ever Senior Advisor for Sport for Development at the United States Agency for International Development. For four years, Mori served as the senior U.S. Government Representative tasked with promoting sport as a unique and powerful tool in the advancement of the nation’s international development policy. Additionally, Mori joined the leadership ranks of the American Red Cross as the Vice President of Corporate Diversity after Hurricane Katrina. During her tenure, she led efforts to design and implement an organization-wide D&I strategy that ensured personnel, programs, and policies reflected the communities in which it operated.

Mori is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Women’s Sports Foundation and serves on the UMass Boston Sport Leadership and Administration Program Advisory Board. She is a contributor to sports discussions on Wharton Business Daily on SiriusXM and was featured in ESPN’s “30 for 30” documentary Broke.

Mori earned her MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor of arts degree from Barnard College, Columbia University. Her book, Bring Yourself: How to Harness the Power of Connection to Negotiate Fearlessly, was published in March 2020.
