Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Avery I. Normyle has joined the firm’s New York office as an associate in the Commercial Litigation group.
Avery’s arrival continues the expansion of the Commercial Litigation group, which recently welcomed former assistant U.S. attorney Yvonne J. Saadi as a partner in Pittsburgh, and also added a leading group of nine litigators in New York, as well as partner Bill Katris and associate Scott M. Kaplan in Chicago this year. Avery joins Blank Rome from Reed Smith LLP.
Avery focuses his practice on a wide range of commercial litigation matters, handling all stages of complex litigation in state and federal courts, as well as arbitrations. Avery has notable experience drafting pleadings; handling all aspects of lay, expert, and third-party discovery; drafting and enforcing subpoenas; enforcing judgments; negotiating and drafting settlement agreements; and liaising with clients and opposing counsel.
Admitted to practice in New York, Avery received his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law, and his B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. During law school, Avery served as a senior articles editor of the St. John’s Law Review as well as a teaching and research assistant.
