Non-Fungible Tokens (“NFTs”): Rocking the Art World and Beyond

Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and the Center for Law and Transformational Technology

Online Webinar

Blank Rome Associate Ameya (“Arun”) V. Paradkar will speak at “Non-Fungible Tokens (“NFTs”): Rocking the Art World and Beyond,” taking place Friday, September 24, 2021, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. EDT.

Presented by Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, in collaboration with the new Center for Law and Transformational Technology at Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law, this two-hour CLE webinar will look at the fascinating legal and practical issues raised by the recent proliferation of non-fungible tokens (“NFTs”). From the now-famous sale by Beeple of his digital art collection for $69 million, to the “burnt” Banksy (or pseudo-Banksy) sale, to Tom Brady’s NFT platform (Autograph), it seems that everyone is getting involved in NFTs.

Arun and his co-presenters will discuss NFTs within the structures of intellectual property and tax laws, exploring the many legal issues surrounding what it is the people own when they acquire NFTs, what rights they have, what pitfalls they face.
