New Workplace Trends Emerge from Fourth COVID-19 Employer Survey Results

COVID-19 Employer Workplace Survey

As we mark the anniversary of the coronavirus pandemic, the phased rollout of emergency-use vaccines as well as the emergence of highly transmissible variants of the virus are presenting employers with new challenges. With these obstacles in mind, Blank Rome’s COVID-19 Task Force launched our fourth employer survey asking stakeholders about key workplace topics. We received responses from more than 130 employers who shared perspectives on their collective knowledge, experiences, and approaches to complex workplace challenges and future business outlooks. The responses came from C-suite executives, in-house attorneys, and human resources professionals from a diverse array of businesses across various industries and geographies.

Along with the survey results, our Labor & Employment attorneys compared the data to the results from our first three surveys conducted in March, April, and July 2020 to perform a gap analysis and identify emerging trends in vaccines, strategic planning, industry impacts, work models, changes to travel, COVID-19 in the workforce, employee complaints, and managing paid time off. They also provided key takeaways in:

  • Vaccination mandates
  • Liability waiver requirements
  • Remote work and social distancing
  • Workplace safety protocols
  • Contact tracing
  • Health screening
  • Business outlooks

We found the results to be enlightening, and we hope you do too.
