Jonathan P. Mitchell Ph.D.

Dr. Jonathan P. Mitchell has experience managing domestic and foreign portfolios, specializing in patent procurement and client counseling primarily in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.  He has experience in patent prosecution, from initial drafting of patent applications to post-grant proceedings, in areas including new chemical entities, organic syntheses, pharmaceutical formulations, polymer chemistry, nanotechnology, nutritional supplements, and absorbents.

Jonathan also has experience conducting due diligence investigations and validity and freedom-to-operate studies and in counseling clients in connection with the Hatch-Waxman Act.

Jonathan's technical background includes organic synthesis (e.g., complex ligand design and synthesis), organometallic synthesis (single site, metallocene, Ziegler-Natta and metathesis initiator design, development, and implementation) and polymer chemistry (initiators, polymerization reactions, and polymer characterization).
