Blank Rome Highly Ranked in Law360 Pro Bono and Social Impact Ratings

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to share that our firm has been highly ranked in Law360 Pulse’s Pro Bono and Social Impact ratings, in recognition of our firm’s commitment and dedication to advancing pro bono efforts in the legal industry and beyond.

Law360 Pulse gauges firms' pro bono efforts through three different categories according to the process outlined in the methodology for Social Impact Leaders, including the proportion of attorneys who provided at least 50 hours of free legal services, the proportion of attorneys who participated in any pro bono work, and the average pro bono hours per attorney. Blank Rome ranked 23rd among law firms with more than 600 attorneys, with over 92 percent of our firm’s attorneys participating an average of 47.4 hours of pro bono activity. Additionally, Blank Rome ranked 13th in Law360’s list of law firms that “are crushing it in pro bono” and have a pro bono participation rate of 90 percent or higher.

“We are proud to be recognized for our firm’s longstanding commitment to pro bono service,” said Kathy E. Ochroch, Blank Rome’s Director of Pro Bono and Community Impact. “Our firm has a formal pro bono policy that requires each of our attorneys and paralegals to undertake at least 25 hours of pro bono service. We are always focused on identifying new, impactful pro bono opportunities, and look forward to continuing to advance our efforts in this important space.”

To assess law firms' social impact efforts, Law360 Pulse reviewed five indicators including, racial and ethnic diversity; gender equality; employee engagement; pro bono service and responsible business practices; and environmental, social, and governance initiatives. Overall, Blank Rome ranked 34th out of 100 firms, scoring over 95 percent for employee engagement and over 51 percent for pro bono activity.

Earlier this year, Blank Rome announced a new firm-wide community impact initiative, which expands the firm’s efforts to provide community service opportunities more formally and strategically to all Blank Rome personnel through meaningful legal and non-legal projects.
