Blank Rome Launches Firm-wide Community Impact Initiative

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce a new firm-wide community impact initiative, which expands the firm’s efforts to provide community service opportunities more formally and strategically to all Blank Rome personnel through meaningful legal and non-legal projects.

As part of this community impact initiative, Kathy E. Ochroch, Partner and Director of Blank Rome’s Pro Bono services, will now also serve as the Director of Community Impact. Additionally, Blank Rome hired a Community Impact Coordinator, Maggie Stutman, who will work closely with Kathy to spearhead the new community service efforts.

“Blank Rome is extremely proud of our long history of supporting the communities in which we live and work at the individual level, through our pro bono program, and now through the firm-wide community impact initiative,” said Kathy Ochroch. “This initiative will significantly expand the firm’s community support and reach and we look forward to finding opportunities to partner with our clients on upcoming service projects.”

Blank Rome recently completed the first firm-wide service project since internally announcing the new community impact initiative. The firm had hundreds of laptops that were no longer being used after a technology upgrade. Partnering with Comp-U-Dopt, a nonprofit committed to providing technology access and education to under-resourced youth, Blank Rome attorneys and professional staff from across all of the firm’s U.S. offices volunteered to erase any data from the laptops to prepare them for donation. Following the completion of the project, Blank Rome donated 300 used laptops to children who have limited access to technology in time for the start of the new school year.
