Blank Rome Partner Rick Antonoff will serve as a panelist for the New York City Bar Association's upcoming webinar, “Chapter 15 at 15,” which will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. EDT.
Chapter 15 of the federal Bankruptcy Code governs U.S. recognition of foreign insolvency proceedings and has become increasingly important in these times of international economic distress.
Rick and his co-panelists will discuss the evolution of Chapter 15 since its enactment 15 years ago, using the key cases of the past 15 years to explore issues regarding eligibility to commence a Chapter 15 case, recognition of foreign proceedings, relief that may be granted to a foreign representative before and after recognition, and coordination with courts in foreign jurisdictions. A Q&A session will follow.
