Alex Nisenbaum, Partner, Blank Rome: “We will see earnest efforts to craft meaningful privacy regulation at the federal level. Interestingly, this will be fueled by growing urgency for the U.S. to maintain a leadership role in responsible AI development, because addressing privacy across the AI lifecycle is fundamentally important to provide meaningful guiderails for safety and accountability in AI. Further pressure will build as California continues to develop its automated decision-making regulations under its comprehensive privacy law, which could become de facto national rules of the road if Congress is unable to act.”
