Karen H. Shin Named Voice for Girls 2023 Spotlight Award Recipient by Girl Scouts of Orange County
Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that associate Karen H. Shin was named a Voice for Girls 2023 Spotlight Award recipient by the Girl Scouts of Orange County.
The Spotlight Award recipients are individuals who are a "driving force in advancing women in leadership." All of the recipients were honored at Voice for Girls 2023: Women’s Wellness in the Workplace on May 5, 2023. Blank Rome was proud to serve as a Silver Sponsor of this event.
Voice for Girls is an "interactive think tank for Orange County’s decision-makers and key influencers" that aims to "align local leaders around a vital mission: to support and champion girls in reaching their full potential in society."

Karen is an associate at the law firm of Blank Rome, LLP specializing in privacy, security, and global data protection.
Prior to Blank Rome, LLP, Karen served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Josephine L. Staton, U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. During law school at UCI, Karen served as a staff editor for the UC Irvine Law Review and a research fellow for the Korea Law Center and Lawyering Skills. She also served as co-chair for the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association and the communications chair for the Entertainment and Sports Law Society.
Karen is a rising star at Blank Rome, LLP, within the Korean American community, and across Orange County. She uses her encyclopedic knowledge of privacy and security regulations to mentor young lawyers in her firm in the complex and growing area of law. As a member of the Orange County Korean American Bar Assocation and Blank Rome, LLP's BR Asian affinity group, Karen truly advocates for Asian Americans. Recently, she conducted pro bono privacy and security legal work for organizations supporting environmental conservation and campaign democracy.
