Marine Casualty Investigations

NAMEPA 2021 Safety at Sea Seminar and AMVER Awards

Online Virtual Event

Blank Rome maritime attorneys Kierstan L. Carlson and Stefanos N. Roulakis will be speaking on “Marine Casualty Investigations” as part of the “Today’s Threats” session for NAMEPA’s 2021 Safety at Sea Seminar and AMVER Awards, held on Thursday, May 20, 2021, from 2:05 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EDT.

In addition to Kierstan and Stefanos’ discussion on marine casualty investigations, the “Today’s Threats” session will include presentations on what keeps the U.S. Coast Guard awake at night, crew change and mental health, and today’s GPS issues.

The one-day seminar will host networking opportunities and breaks, and will conclude with the session on “Tomorrow’s Targets,” which will include presentations on communications; diversity and inclusion in the maritime industry; the use of technology in salvage and oil spill responses; and Eyesea, a nonprofit organization focused on taking action against global pollution. The event will conclude with the AMVER Awards ceremony.

This is the second year in a row that NAMEPA will host this annual seminar and awards ceremony virtually, during the global COVID-19 pandemic. RDML Richard Timme will serve as the event’s inaugural speaker, and VADM Buschman will be presenting this year’s AMVER Awards.
