Bankruptcy in a Pandemic: What You Need to Know

Blank Rome Associate Matthew E. Kaslow will be presenting at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s ("PBI") Bankruptcy in a Pandemic: What You Need to Know online webinar, taking place Friday, October 30, 2020, from 1:30 to 5:15 p.m. EST.
Matthew will be one of six attorneys in a Shark Tank-style session addressing issues where there is a conflict in the circuits or where there is some possibility for a change in the law. He will cover the use of telephonic or Zoom hearings and “pitch” that courts should continue virtual hearings permanently, rather than revert to in-person hearings after COVID-19 concerns subside. He will address issues concerning these types of hearings, including potential evidentiary concerns, witness preparation, and judges’ pet peeves. If the arguments are compelling, a panel of three distinguished federal bankruptcy judges (“sharks”) may decide to “buy” into each pitch.
