Blank Rome partners Charles S. Marion and Harrison Brown will serve as speakers for the myLawCLE live webinar “ADA Compliance and Website Accessibility Litigation: What’s a Business to Do?” taking place on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:10 p.m. EST (11:00 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. PST).

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

This program will provide an overview of website accessibility litigation brought under the federal Americans with Disabilities Act and certain similar state and local statutes, including the nature of these claims, potential defenses, or grounds to move to dismiss such lawsuits, important court decisions, legislative developments and other governmental activity in this area, and best practices businesses can employ limit their risk and exposure in this area.

Key topics to be discussed:

  • Whether websites are places of public accommodation subject to Title III of the ADA
  • How the courts have ruled on these types of claims
  • Whether the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Congress, or any state legislatures have taken any action on this issue
  • Preventative steps businesses can take to reduce the risk of such claims

Their session will be followed by Amy E. Richardson and Deepika H. Ravi’s presentation, “Ethical Considerations in Co-Counsel Relationships,” exploring the ethical and risk management issues that can and often do come up in co-counsel relationship.
