Blank Rome’s Lawrence Chane Receives Edward N. Polisher Award from Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia
Blank Rome LLP Partner Lawrence S. Chane received the Edward N. Polisher Award from the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia ("JFGP") on September 8, 2016, in honor of his distinguished service to the Jewish Federation’s endowment programs.
Mr. Chane was presented with the award during the 21st Annual Solomon and Sylvia Bronstein Seminar, which provides an opportunity for local estate-planning professionals to stay on the cutting-edge of estate-planning trends.
Upon receiving his award, Mr. Chane revealed that his commitment and involvement as a Jewish communal leader was inspired by a 1993 Jewish Federation mission to Germany, Poland, and Israel, where he met the award’s namesake, Ed Polisher, age 91 at the time. Noting that it was “truly a great honor to accept the award named in his memory,” and with the 1993 trip in mind, Mr. Chane added that he selected the recipient of this year’s distribution from the Polisher Endowment Fund the [Jewish Federation’s] Israel Programs Scholarship Aid Fund, a need-based scholarship fund that awards over $100,000 annually to residents of the Greater Philadelphia area.
