Which Emerging Risks Are Resulting in Disputes?—Public Nuisance

Blank Rome Partner John E. Heintz will speak at the ARIAS•U.S. (AIDA Reinsurance and Insurance Arbitration Society U.S.) 2018 Spring Conference, being held May 9 through 11, 2018, in Palm Beach, FL.

John will present the “Which Emerging Risks Are Resulting in Disputes?—Public Nuisance (e.g. recent California lead paint decision)” breakout session on Thursday, May 10. The session will be held in two “rounds,” 10:30 to 11:20 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., and John will speak at both.

The Conference as a whole will examine whether the current risk exposure the industry is facing, including extreme weather, cyber risk, the opioid crisis, the #metoo movement, and public nuisance exposure (to name a few) represents the New Normal. Speakers from both inside and outside of the ARIAS community will provide updates as we consider how the New Normal may result in coverage issues and potentially lead to reinsurance disputes.
