Murphy</a> has joined the firm’s New York office as an associate in the <a href="https://www.blankrome.com/services-and-industries/tax/">Tax, Benefits, and Private Client</a> group, which welcomed associate <a href="https://www.blankrome.com/people/christopher-m-lash/">Christopher M. Lash</a> in <a href="https://www.blankrome.com/news-and-events/blank-rome-welcomes-new-state-and-local-tax-associate-christopher-m-lash-in-philadelphia/">June</a>. Sean joins Blank Rome after serving as a state + local tax (“SALT”) mergers and acquisitions senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Sean focuses his practice on state tax controversy and transaction matters. His experience includes SALT due diligence, structuring, and consulting matters, spanning income/franchise, gross receipts, sales/use, property, employment, and transfer taxes, as well as unclaimed property.

Admitted to practice in New York, Sean received his J.D., cum laude, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and his B.S., summa cum laude, from Binghamton University. While in law school, he served low-income taxpayers at the Cardozo Tax Law Clinic and was a staff editor for the&nbsp;Cardozo Journal of Equal Rights &amp; Social Justice.
