Jason R. Eig

Biography

Jason Eig is a real estate partner who represents banks, financial institutions, REITs, private equity companies, and other sponsors on real estate financings, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and related matters.

His representations span a variety of disciplines with particular industry experience in healthcare, industrial, and office real estate matters.

Healthcare Real Estate Finance

Jason has extensive experience representing banks and other financial institutions in real estate lending transactions involving healthcare real estate assets having served as lead counsel on senior and mezzanine financing transactions for over 15 years throughout the United States.

Real Estate Acquisitions, Dispositions, and Leasing Matters

Jason has represented REITs, private equity companies, and other sponsors in acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and leasing matters for two decades. During Jason’s career, he has served as lead outside transactions counsel for clients, having closed over 100 acquisitions, dispositions, and financings in this capacity. He also regularly represents clients in commercial leasing matters with a particular expertise in the industrial and office spaces.

Outside the Firm

Jason and his wife founded the Eigs of the World Foundation, Inc. (www.eigsoftheworldfoundation.org), whose mission is to provide music and artistic opportunities, mentoring, and related financial assistance and support to the underprivileged, those with special needs, and marginalized children throughout the United States.

Jason is also the rhythm guitarist in the Montgomery Warlocks, a Grateful Dead cover band that regularly plays in the Washington, D.C., area.

Experience

  • Served as lead outside counsel in connection with more than 100 commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions and financings involving industrial, office and warehouse facilities located throughout the United States.
  • Represented sponsor REIT in connection with a $100 million sale of large office complex located in Nashville, Tennessee.
  • Represented lead agent and lender in connection with a $500 million financing secured by medical office buildings located throughout the United States.
  • Represented lead agent and lender in connection with a $185 million financing secured by 19 skilled nursing homes located throughout the United States.
  • Represented lead agent and lender in connection with a $400 million financing secured by 29 medical office buildings located throughout the United States.
  • Represented first out lender in connection with a $240 million unitranche financing secured by 19 skilled nursing facilities located throughout the United States.
  • Represented lender in an approximately $850 million construction loan financing involving the development of the Wharf in Washington, D.C.
