Blank Rome Welcomes New Maritime Associate in Houston

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Evan Spencer has joined the firm’s Houston office in the Maritime practice group. He joins Blank Rome from Phelps Dunbar LLP.

Blank Rome continues to expand strategically in Texas. The firm opened its Dallas office in July with the addition of seven attorneys who focus on corporate, real estate, and finance matters. Since the opening, Blank Rome welcomed partners Barrett R. Howell and Jason C. Ray, as well as associate Donald G. Ainscow. And, the Houston office recently welcomed associate Julianna D. Shaw, as well as patent agent Dr. Joseph B. Jackson earlier this year.

Evan focuses his practice on the areas of maritime and energy litigation. He represents clients in the marine, energy, and transportation industries regarding a wide range of matters, including maritime and energy-related tort and contract disputes both on and offshore.

Prior to joining Blank Rome, Evan served as an associate attorney with the maritime groups of Gulf South regional and national law firms. He also previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable K. Nicole Mitchell at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Admitted to practice in Texas and Louisiana, Evan received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and his B.S. from Mississippi State University. Evan serves as a member of YoungShip International’s International Maritime Organization Working Group and is an active member of the Galveston Propeller Club.
