Cassandra Mott Elected President of Secured Finance Network Houston Chapter

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Cassandra G. Mott, partner and co-chair of the firm’s Houston office, has been elected president of the Secured Finance Network (“SFNet”) Houston Chapter for a two-year term, effective January 1, 2025.

“I am honored to have been elected president of the SFNet Houston Chapter,” said Cassandra. “As a longstanding member, I am passionate about and proud of SFNet’s work in fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the secured finance industry. I look forward to leading our chapter as president as this role will allow me to give back to the community that has supported my career and to help shape the future of the secured finance industry in the Houston area.

“It’s with great pleasure that I pass the torch to Cassandra as the new president of the SFNet Houston Chapter,” said William J. Kemp, Senior Vice President, Business Development Officer at Republic Business Credit. “Her election is a well-deserved recognition of her significant contributions and dedication to our organization. Cassandra’s leadership and innovative spirit have already greatly benefited our chapter, and I am confident that she will continue to drive our mission forward with excellence.”

As president, Cassandra will collaborate with SFNet Houston Chapter leadership, including the board and committee chairs, to ensure the delivery of exceptional programming, secure sponsorships, expand membership, and maintain strong communication with the national chapter, among other responsibilities.

Cassandra steps into this role following her successful tenure as vice president, during which time she organized and participated in numerous educational programs, networking opportunities, and social events designed to unite members, advance the secured finance industry, and increase deal flow among members. Notably, she arranged and moderated a panel at the Annual Lenders Panel Lunch, which explored the business case for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the secured finance industry.

Additionally, Cassandra has been instrumental in revitalizing the chapter’s Women in Secured Finance Group, promoting the advancement of women in leadership through networking, education, and advocacy. She was a previous honoree of SFNet’s Leading the Way Forward: Women in Secured Finance, which highlights “inspiring women who exemplify excellence and have distinguished themselves within the secured finance industry.”

Blank Rome is proud to be actively involved with SFNet on a national level, frequently hosting events and sponsoring the organization’s national conference. Attorneys across the firm’s 16 offices serve as members within the organization, many of whom held or are currently in leadership positions. In particular, Blank Rome vice chair Lawrence “Larry” F. Flick is a member of SFNet’s national Executive Committee.

“I’d like to congratulate Cassandra on her new role as president of SFNet’s Houston Chapter,” said Larry. “Her commitment to this important organization and efforts to advance the secured finance community are commendable. I am excited to see the positive impact she will undoubtedly make in her new role.”
