Blank Rome partner Sharon R. Klein will serve as a table moderator for the “Label Me Maybe: Making AI Transparent (and Comply with Disparate Laws)” session, which will take place on Monday, November 3, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., as part of the “Hot Topics in Intellectual Property, Communications and Technology” interactive networking program.

ABOUT THE SESSION

From Brussels to D.C. to Beijing, “transparency” is the buzzword in artificial intelligence (“AI”) land, but what actually has to be revealed, to whom, and when? This roundtable slices through the noise to map the hard-law duties (EU AI Act, DSA, GDPR) against the U.S. patchwork (FTC Act §5, sectoral rules, state laws) and China’s content rules for deep synthesis and generative AI. Speakers will compare what’s mandated, what’s merely “best practice”, and where disclosure collides with trade secrets and intellectual property.

Table moderators:

  • Florencia Rosati, Partner, Beccar Varela
  • Erik Valgaeren, Partner, Stibbe
  • Sharon R. Klein, Partner and Co-Chair, Privacy, Security & Data Protection Practice, Blank Rome LLP
