James G. Gorman III

Biography

James G. Gorman III concentrates his practice on commercial, corporate, and intellectual property litigation.

James is skilled in all aspects of litigation, ranging from pre-litigation counseling to the courtroom, and he routinely leverages his experience at both the trial and appellate level to advise his clients in a cost-effective manner. He has significant experience representing clients in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

James has notable experience serving as both lead and Delaware counsel and he regularly counsels clients regarding the following matters:

  • Breach of contract matters
  • Patent infringement
  • Trademark infringement
  • Trade secret misappropriation
  • Business torts
  • Breach of fiduciary duty and corporate governance claims
  • Shareholder/stockholder disputes, including derivative, appraisal, and quasi-appraisal claims
  • Regulatory disputes

James is also experienced with motions practice, oral argument, written discovery, taking/defending depositions, trial practice, post-trial work, and appellate work.

Previously, James served as a judicial extern for Judge Sue L. Robinson at the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. During law school, James served as a comments editor for the Penn State Law Review.

Outside the Firm

James enjoys spending time with family and friends and cheering for Philadelphia sports teams. James is also an avid skier.
