Blank Rome Welcomes New Commercial Litigation Associate in Chicago

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Scott M. Kaplan has joined the firm’s Chicago office in the Commercial Litigation practice group.

Scott’s arrival continues the group’s strategic expansion, which recently welcomed a leading group of nine litigators in New York, as well as Commercial Litigation partner Bill Katris in Chicago. Joining Blank Rome from HMB Legal Counsel, Scott focuses his practice on a wide range of complex commercial litigation matters, real estate disputes, and business disputes in state and federal courts throughout the country.

Scott has successfully resolved numerous disputes at every stage of litigation, including pre-suit settlements, arbitration and mediation outcomes, as well as through verdicts as lead counsel and second chair at trial. He has significant experience representing clients in matters involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference, fraud, breach of restrictive covenant and non-compete agreements, shareholder/member disputes, adversary bankruptcy matters, labor and employment issues, corporate disputes, biometric privacy claims, and trade secret misappropriation.

Admitted to practice in Illinois and Wisconsin, Scott received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Chicago-Kent College of Law and his B.A. from Indiana University-Bloomington. Earlier this year, Scott was named a “Rising Star” in Business Litigation by Super Lawyers.
