Scarlett L. Montenegro Ordoñez Named Top Lawyer Under 40 by Hispanic National Bar Association

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that associate Scarlett L. Montenegro Ordoñez has been named a Top Lawyer Under 40 by the Hispanic National Bar Association ("HNBA").

Scarlett is one of 25 HNBA members nationwide to be recognized as a Top Lawyer Under 40, which honors "accomplished HNBA members who have demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community, and dedication to improving the legal profession."

The honorees will be presented with awards during the 2024 Top Lawyers Under 40 Reception at the HNBA/VIA Corporate Counsel Conference on Thursday, March 21, 2024.

Scarlett L. Montenegro Ordoñez, born in Miami, FL to Nicaraguan parents, is a General Litigation and Intellectual Property and Technology Associate at Blank Rome LLP. She works on a range of matters, such as disputes against insurance companies, False Claims Act litigation, copyright and trademark litigation, prosecution and maintenance of trademark and service mark filings and inter partes disputes before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, trademark and service mark enforcement matters in the United States and globally, trademark and copyright counseling, internet issues and domain name disputes, intellectual property and technology transactions, and advises clients on IP due diligence in support of corporate mergers and acquisitions. 

Scarlett serves on the board of the Hispanic Bar Association of D.C. Foundation, an organization that supports Latino/a/e law students in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area working unpaid during the summer at public interest legal organizations. The foundation also hosts an annual graduation ceremony called “PASOS,” which celebrates graduating Latino/a/e law students, their families, friends and members of the legal community.

Scarlett earned her B.A. in Politics from Mount Holyoke College where she was a Posse Foundation Scholar and her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law.
