Christopher J. Petersen
Partner; Co-Chair, General Litigation Practice Group
Blank Rome LLP

Christopher Petersen’s practice focuses on trials of complex business disputes, primarily in the real estate sector. Although he focusses on real estate disputes, Petersen handles all areas of litigation including trusts and estates and disputes related to California charter schools. Over the last several years, he has tried (jury and bench) or arbitrated three-four business disputes per year—a significant volume. Since joining Blank Rome ten years ago, he has tried or arbitrated more than 30 cases, including as lead counsel in several jury trials and arbitrations.

Petersen is part of a Blank Rome team that represents many of the largest non-classroom-based charter schools in California. In the last several years, these schools have faced many legal challenges to their operations, and Petersen has litigated several issues of first impression under the Charter Schools Act on their behalf, including issues impacting the locations where schools are permitted to operate.

Ana Tagvoryan
Partner; Co-Chair, Corporate Litigation Practice Group and Class Action Defense Team
Blank Rome LLP

Ana Tagvoryan has more than 16 years of experience defending and managing risk involving high-stakes consumer class action claims in and out of the courtroom related to rapidly evolving areas such as consumer privacy, data handling, advertising and marketing for e-commerce and traditional commerce, healthcare, and goods and commodities for publicly traded and household name clients, securing orders of affirmation or reversal from courts of appeals and the US Supreme Court, among others. She has a reputation for strategically disposing of cases early and efficiently.

In a recent putative class action case under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Tagvoryan and her team secured a victory before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. This victory was critical for retailers like Target to continue to defend against plaintiffs’ claims in federal court, leading the way for more than 15 similar putative class action cases being stayed pending the outcome of Target’s appeal.
