Blank Rome LLP is pleased to share that the firm has been recognized as an Outstanding Diverse Organization and that partner Katherine Franco has been recognized as an Outstanding Diversity Champion as part of the Houston Business Journal's 2024 Diversity in Business Awards.

Blank Rome is one of 31 organizations named an Outstanding Diverse Organization honoree, which identifies organizations that have “contributed to harnessing diversity within their workforces and actively taken the lead to promote and champion diversity within the community or their industries.”

“At Blank Rome, we value diversity of identities, experiences, and backgrounds, which create a more vibrant and dynamic work environment and drive business and service excellence,” said Cassandra G. Mott, partner and co-chair of the firm’s Houston office. “Our Houston office is honored to be recognized for our ongoing efforts by the Houston Business Journal.”

“We are incredibly pleased to be recognized for advancing diversity and inclusion practices in Houston, especially given our firm’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and high-performing culture where all our colleagues feel empowered to do their best work,” added Susan L. Bickley, partner and co-chair of the firm’s Houston office. “I’d also like to congratulate Katherine for her remarkable achievements and leadership. Katherine has long been an advocate of diversity and inclusion in the legal industry and is deserving of this recognition. As a firm, we look forward to continuing our focus on diversity and inclusion here in Houston—one of the most diverse cities in the world—and in all of cities in which we do business.”

Katherine Franco is one of 29 individuals named an Outstanding Diversity Champion, which recognizes individuals who “have shown initiative to promote diversity and inclusion either within the community or their for-profit and nonprofit organizations.”

“I am grateful to be recognized by the Houston Business Journal among such influential and talented honorees,” said Katherine. “I am proud to be a partner in a firm that is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and high-performing culture, and I look forward to continuing to support diversity and inclusion in Houston, the legal industry, and beyond.”

Highlighting organizations and individuals who show an exceptional commitment to promoting practices that advance diversity and inclusion in Houston, all of the Diversity in Business Awards honorees will be honored on March 28, 2024, at a live event and featured in a special publication of the weekly edition of the Houston Business Journal on March 29, 2024.
