About R. Paul Zeineddin
CO-CHAIR, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LITIGATION PRACTICE GROUP
Paul Zeineddin has led trial teams in patent disputes and served as a principal strategic member on several global Standard-Essential patent conflicts across the United States, Europe, and Asia. In contentious disputes, Paul has litigated over 60 major patent infringement cases in U.S. district courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission (“ITC”) focusing on communications, semiconductor, software, and consumer electronic industries.
Paul has also served as lead counsel on policy issues before standard bodies and before competition authorities in the United States and Europe in connection with standard essential patents (“SEPs”) and their fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (“FRAND”) commitments. And he has served as the lead counsel for major consumer electronics and communication companies negotiating bilateral SEP deals, as well as collective negotiations forming several patent pools, amongst the largest communications and consumer-electronics companies in the United States, Asia, and Europe.
Paul has a BS and an MS in electrical engineering. Before embarking on his legal career, Paul served as a senior telecommunications engineer in British Telecom and the MITRE Corporation. He also previously served as senior IP counsel at Samsung Electronics.
