Jonathan W.S. England

Biography

Jon England advises clients on a wide range of intellectual property issues, with a focus on patent litigation. He represents clients before various forums, including U.S. district courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the International Trade Commission, and at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO"). Jon’s practice covers a variety of technical areas, including chemical, biochemical, mechanical, telecommunications, and electrical technologies.

With a strong background in both intellectual property law and manufacturing, Jon applies his experience to all stages of patent litigation, representing clients from pre-suit analysis through trial. He is also a registered patent attorney that has considerable experience in post-grant proceedings at the USPTO and the respective appeals before the Federal Circuit, including ex parte reexaminations, inter partes reviews, post-grant reviews, and derivation proceedings.

Jon’s prior roles continue to enhance his ability to deliver effective results for his clients. Before attending law school, he worked as a product development engineer at an American multinational chemical company. And while in law school, he gained added experience working at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Outside the Firm

Jonathan is an avid runner and has completed the Nashville Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon and numerous half marathons. He enjoys participating in any team sport, visiting the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, and reading.
