Sean R. Weissbart, partner and co-chair of the Tax, Benefits, and Private Client group, spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the legal dispute involving actor Chadwick Boseman’s estate. Boseman’s brothers have alleged that his widow, Taylor Simone, has mismanaged estate assets and failed to make payments owed to the family.
"When someone dies without a will, half of their assets go to the spouse and half go to the parents," Sean said.
"As the assignees of the parents' interest in the estate, the kids are still owed this money, and they think that she is sitting on this and asking the court to punish her. When you violate a court order, we have the right to ask the court to hold you in contempt," Sean explained.
