Blank Rome is pleased to share that partner Leigh Ann Buziak has been appointed to the Steering Committee for The Sedona Conference’s Working Group 12 on Trade Secrets for a three-year term.
In this leadership role, Leigh Ann will help identify cutting-edge issues within the Working Group’s mission, foster dialogue among members, and guide the development of principles, guidelines, commentaries, and other key projects. She will also oversee educational initiatives and membership outreach activities that advance the Working Group’s objectives.
Working Group 12 is dedicated to developing consensus-based, nonpartisan principles for managing trade secret litigation and creating well-vetted guidelines for protecting trade secrets. Its work recognizes that trade secrets are vital to every organization, that related disputes often intersect with public policy issues such as employee mobility and international trade, and that these disputes are litigated in both state and federal courts.
The Sedona Conference® Working Group Series was established to explore critical issues in antitrust law, complex litigation, intellectual property rights, and data security and privacy law, with the goal of producing high-quality, practical guidance for the bench and bar.
At Blank Rome, Leigh Ann represents clients in a wide range of business disputes, with a focus on complex employment and intellectual property matters. Chambers-ranked and a founding member of the firm’s Trade Secrets & Competitive Hiring team, she is a trusted adviser on issues involving restrictive covenants, trade secret protection, and competitive hiring strategies. Leigh Ann regularly drafts, negotiates, and litigates non-compete agreements; pursues claims for misappropriation of trade secrets; and defends companies against such allegations. She also provides strategic counsel on employment risks, investigations, and litigation exposure, and brings extensive experience in developing digital evidence, including conducting forensic investigations.
