Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that <a href="/people/ira-l-herman/" id="19144">Ira L. Herman</a> has been inducted into the Association of Insolvency &amp; Restructuring Advisors' ("AIRA") Distinguished Fellows Class of 2025.

This designation recognizes Ira's "significant contributions to AIRA and to the art and science of the corporate restructuring profession." AIRA’s Board of Directors created the Distinguished Fellows Program as an academic and professional honor for AIRA members who exemplify the highest level of excellence in professional practice and whose contributions have left a significant positive legacy to the profession and to AIRA.

The Distinguished Fellows Class of 2025 was named at AIRA's annual conference on June 5, 2025, and will be further recognized at the 24th Annual Advanced Restructuring &amp; Plan of Reorganization Conference on November 17, 2025, in New York City.

Earlier this year, Ira was honored with American Bankruptcy Institute’s (“ABI”) <a href="/news-and-events/ira-l-herman-receives-american-bankruptcy-institutes-distinguished-service-award/" id="29425">Distinguished Service Award</a>, the highest accolade for ABI members, for his exceptional leadership as the chair of ABI’s <a href="/news-and-events/blank-romes-ira-l-herman-helps-launch-restructuring-masterclass-in-partnership-with-the-american-bankruptcy-institute/" id="19539">Restructuring Masterclass</a>. At Blank Rome, Ira focuses on restructuring and bankruptcy matters, specializing in distressed public debt issues, secured and unsecured loans, cross-border insolvency, distressed M&amp;A, and corporate governance. He regularly advises clients, including lenders, on managing bankruptcy risk in transactions, asset dispositions, and distressed M&amp;A. He also counsels indenture trustees on defaulted public debt issues and advises lenders and others on intercreditor and related matters. As a court-appointed mediator, Ira has successfully facilitated the resolution of disputes involving U.S. and international parties in bankruptcy and commercial law issues.
