Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Ira L. Herman chaired the development of Restructuring Masterclass in collaboration with the American Bankruptcy Institute (“ABI”), a new and unique on-demand platform designed for the busy restructuring and insolvency practitioner.
Restructuring Masterclass stands as a one-of-a-kind, permanent educational installation. It features an interactive table of contents, enabling users to choose topics of interest and tailor the quest for information, and will regularly update and expand its offerings to add to the scope and depth of the knowledge available to users.
Each session is supplemented by comprehensive written materials available on the site, including citations and other useful information. As a bonus, users can earn Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) and Continuing Professional Education (“CPE”) credits.
"Restructuring Masterclass is dynamic and is designed for the way professionals want to learn in 2025. I am immensely proud of the effort that has gone into this project and extend my heartfelt thanks to the ABI for its invaluable collaboration, to Blank Rome for its support, and to the many individuals who contributed to the effort to bring Restructuring Masterclass to life," Ira said.
Restructuring Masterclass is presented by an exceptional faculty of industry masters, including judges, lawyers, financial advisors, legal scholars, and other leading experts. These distinguished instructors present critical concepts at all levels, ensuring that every professional dealing with restructuring, insolvency, and bankruptcy can access the information needed to effectively advise and represent clients.
Ira introduces Restructuring Masterclass with a session on bankruptcy basics, highlighting key concepts such as the constitutional basis of bankruptcy law, the role of the Bankruptcy Code, and the reasons individuals and entities file for bankruptcy. Regina Stango Kelbon, Blank Rome partner and co-chair of the Business Department, presents a session focusing on key considerations for lenders in debtor-in-possession financing orders. She emphasizes the importance of understanding local rules, capital structure, prepetition arrangements, and more.
Evan Jason Zucker, of counsel at Blank Rome, offers an insightful session on Chapter 15 of the Bankruptcy Code, elucidating the distinctions between territorialism and universalism in cross-border insolvency, and highlighting the advantages and challenges of each approach.
Restructuring Masterclass is not just a learning platform; it is a transformative experience designed to equip professionals with the knowledge necessary to excel in the dynamic field of restructuring, insolvency, and bankruptcy.
