Blank Rome’s ESG group is co-led by Barychev and is comprised of senior partners from our Philadelphia and Pittsburgh offices, as well as our other national offices. Through cross-disciplinary expertise and industry knowledge, the team invests in long-term relationships with clients, providing practical advice with a watchful eye toward shifts in the regulatory environment.

A fitting example of the firm’s ESG work is in the services it provided to Carbon Direct Capital Management. In November 2022, Blank Rome represented Carbon Direct Capital Management, an investment company dedicated to combining scientific expertise and financial capital to scale carbon removal into a global industry, in connection with its investment in Syzygy Plasmonics, a deep-decarbonization company in the chemical industry. This investment by Carbon Direct will continue to develop its portfolio of leading companies in the carbon management ecosystem space. The team was led by Yelena M. Barychev and Jourdan S. Garvey, with significant support from Ivy Shapiro.
