Look Ahead with Lois Liberman: A Women’s Salon Series

Liberman</a>’s Look Ahead salons are designed to address the very personal and pivotal issues that concern women who are divorced and divorcing. Over her 30-year career in matrimonial law, she has seen their impact and the toll these challenges take on her clients’ lives.

Lois created these interactive salons to connect her current and former clients with prominent relationship and financial experts and a spectrum of personal image professionals who share their keen insights and practical advice. Each participant takes away strategies to cope, win, and move their life forward.

Dr. Kathryn Smerling has joined our Salon Series previously for a very popular and important discussion of how to “<a href="https://www.blankrome.com/events/co-parenting-narcissist">Co-Parent with a Narcissist</a>.” In this Salon webinar, Dr. Smerling is back to tackle the next step in the narcissist discussion: how to heal and move on from a relationship with a narcissist. In particular, she will discuss when you should don your protective armor and when you should bare your soul. While focusing on narcissism, Dr. Smerling’s insights will be enlightening for anyone seeking to move on from a difficult relationship.

Dr. Kathryn Smerling&nbsp;is a leading family therapy professional and parent coordinator, specializing in high-conflict couples. She provides individual adult therapy, as well as comprehensive couples and family therapy.

With a Ph.D. from Fordham University and a Master’s from Cornell University, Dr. Smerling began her career as an early childhood educator. She created a curriculum for the State of New Mexico for preschoolers called Instep and wrote over forty booklets on early childhood development for Random House which were used for migrant workers in Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, and California.

After completing her Ph.D., Dr. Smerling earned her MSW from New York University. She continued her studies with the Extern Program at The Ackerman Institute for the Family and a psychoanalytic program at the National Institute for Psychotherapies. She also has certificates in Divorce Mediation, Divorce Collaboration, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Relational Therapy.

Dr. Smerling serves as a clinical instructor at Mount Sinai in the Department of OBGYN and on the Dean's Council at the NYU School of Social Work.
