Ira will also speak on the “Emerging Issues in Attorney Discipline: Disciplining Politically-Motivated Attorney Misconduct and Discharging State Bar Sanctions” panel at 10:00 a.m. on June 10.

This ethics panel will address two critical topics.

State Bar disciplinary actions against attorneys for communicating demonstrably false and misleading statements for politically motivated purposes to courts, lawmakers, and the public at large in their capacity as lawyers.

Issues that arise if a disciplined attorney should seek to discharge State Bar-ordered amounts owed for sanctions and reimbursement of State operated Client Protection Funds.

Ira will be joined on this panel by Hon. Paul M. Black (U.S. Bankruptcy Court, W.D. Va.), Prof. James E. Moliterno (Washington and Lee University School of Law), Ashley M. Teesdale (Ringstad &amp; Sanders, LLP), Michael von Loewenfeldt (Wagstaffe, von Loewenfeldt, Busch &amp; Radwich LLP), and Hon. Scott C. Clarkson (U.S. Bankruptcy Court, C.D. Cal.) as moderator.
