Blank Rome LLP has been named an “Equal Access to Justice Champion” by Houston Volunteer Lawyers for the 2016-2017 bar year. The recognition honors the Firm's Houston office for being “a model for pro bono legal services in the community.”
Founded in 2006, the Equal Access to Justice Champion Program requires firms in Houston to take on a certain number of pro bono cases each year based on the number of lawyers in their office. Firms that participate in the program pledge to annually accept one pro bono case for every five attorneys. With more than 40 attorneys in the Firm’s Houston office, Blank Rome earned the champion title by exceeding its target of eight or more pro bono cases per year.
