Blank Rome Partner Dennis M.P. Ehling authored the article, “Gambling in America: The Floodgates are Open,” in the May 25, 2018, edition of the Daily Journal. In his article, Dennis discusses the history and laws on gambling, as well as the role it plays in state governments with regards to revenue and as a lucrative form of commerce in general. He also analyzes the legal history involving sports betting, notably with regards to the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (“PASPA”) passed by Congress and the Supreme Court’s role in striking PASPA down as well as its rulings on other gambling-related cases, such as Murphy v.
