Changes to Pennsylvania Support Guidelines

On January 12, 2010, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court issued an Order amending the Pennsylvania support guidelines. These changes will go into effect on May 12, 2010 and include:

  • New formula for computing support obligations in cases where the parties combined net monthly income exceeds $30,000
  • New formula regarding parties with shared custody arrangements
  • New rules regarding earning capacity when calculating a support order
  • New rules regarding reimbursements for medical expenses
  • Changes affecting the duration of spousal support/alimony pendente lite
  • New rules regarding the applicability of a mortgage deviation
